After twenty years working in a variety of education jobs I decided to have a change of career and see if I could make my hobby into a business. Starting with a degree in Design Crafts at Staffordshire University, the course introduced me to a diverse range of materials, my aim to seek a material that I could combine with textiles.
Textiles was where it all began, sewing at home and taking O’level needlework, which led onto City & Guild courses in Patchwork and Quilting, Machine Embroidery and Feltmaking. My final decision was to work with wood and felt.
Having completed my degree I now work from my Cheshire home and “shed” in the back garden. Producing a range of work that can be found in the gallery pages.
You will find me at various shows around the UK mainly in the north, throughout the year.
A note about Flocks and Blocks - you will also see the words Flocks and Block on my Pinterest and Etsy page this came from the title of a solo exhibition that I had at the Model House Craft & Design Centre Llantrisant Wales…. Flocks for the sheep/wool and Blocks for the wood.
